A booklet composed of sketches drawn while sitting at my favorite coffee shop in St. Louis. Special attention given to drawing from life, capturing the ebb and flow of the shop throughout a day.
A card distributed by the MCA's directors office at holiday time. A piece that combines both my illustration and design practice to result in a product with a warm yet professional holiday feel.
Printed pieces designed using analog, zine-making practices to create a punk feel for this teen-centered event.
A spiral-bound book documenting my childhood home through a series of images as well as through an interview between myself and my parents. Specific choices are made through both the materiality of the book as well as the page design itself to reflect an overarching theme of "collage."
Wayfinding signage placed in the atrium at the MCA to drive traffic into the gift shop.
A publication I designed in collaboration with two friends who provided me the content for the piece. Inspired by brutalist design, this magazine is meant to bring us into the exciting world of "Candy," Martin Levy's larger than life pop persona.
Showcasing some digital design work, as well as additional printed work, that I have been able to complete during my time at the MCA Chicago. Also including print and digital work completed for the same identity.
My senior capstone project where I compiled three essays into an illustrated and bound 70 page book. The essays were once submitted to the New York Times column Modern Love but were rejected, so through this piece I hope to give them the platform they never had.
An exploration of the chairs I came across in my day to day life in St. Louis. I juxtapose the function of the chair with personal anecdotes associated with each one. I find it fascinating that such a utilitarian object can have such sentiment attached to it. The design of the book represents this juxtaposition through choices such as a rigid grid of images paired with organic, handwritten text.
